1. Site Usage

By using our website (www.ramilliesestate.org.uk or ramilliesestate.org.uk which we may refer to as "RE", "us", "we" or "our") you agree to be bound by our site usage policy set out on this page.

We do have links ("hyperlinks") to other websites which we don't own or operate. These links will open a new window and you won't see our logo at the top. We do not pass any information to these sites. They have their own privacy policies and ours will no longer apply when using their site.

If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent/guardian's permission beforehand when using any service, such as the discussion boards, and whenever you provide any personal information to any website. Users without this consent are not allowed to use any of our services or provide us with personal information.

www.ramilliesestate.org.uk is published in the UK aimed solely at residents of Ramillies Estate and those in the Cheadle Hulme Area. International users are welcome to browse the site but should not submit any information, personal or otherwise.

2. Your personal information

We will generally not ask you for any personal information. If you sign up to take part in or receive a service from us such as newsletters, competitions, message boards etc, we may ask for personal information about you. This can consist of information such as your name, e mail address, postal address, telephone or mobile number or date of birth.

We will never contact you for marketing purposes and will never ever pass any details on to any third parties (except where disclosure is required by law, for example to law enforcement agencies).

We will always explain why we are asking for these details and will ensure that any details are kept safe and confidential.

We may collect IP addresses, for instance to ensure only one entry to a competition or survey is made per household.

Any personal information we collect will only be held for as long as is necessary for the relevant service, e.g. for the duration of a survey.

3. Contact from us

We may contact you:

  1. to notify you or a new service
  2. where you have requested information;
  3. in relation to any contribution you have made to RE, e.g. on the discussion boards;
  4. to invite you to participate in surveys (participation is always voluntary);
4. Offensive or inappropriate content on our website

If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on or to our website, or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on the site, we may use your personal information to stop such behaviour. We reserve the right to remove any such material and block offending users from the site; we won't let any one person ruin it for everyone.

Where we reasonably believe that you are or may be in breach of any of the laws of England or Wales (e.g. because content you have posted may be defamatory), we may use your personal information to inform relevant third parties such as your employer, school e-mail/Internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.
